Important Details

This is applicable on flights to / from USA or Canada, both when the baggage is through checked to / from USA and Canada, and when there is a stopover at an intermediate point).

Passengers are entitled to carry two pieces of checked-in luggage as per following specifications:

First / Executive Class: Two pieces of baggage. Linear dimensions (length+height+width) of each piece should not exceed 158 cm (62 inches). The weight of each bag should not exceed 32 kg (70 lbs).

Economy Plus and Economy Class: Two pieces. Linear dimension (length+height+width) of both pieces should not exceed 273 cm (107inches). Moreover, the linear dimensions of each piece should not exceed 158 cm (62inches). The weight of each bag must not exceed 32 kg (70 lbs).

Weight System

This is applicable for travel to / from countries other than USA and Canada, and 'purely domestic' travel, i.e. travel within India.

The free checked baggage allowance in the weight system is as follows:

CLASS INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

In the case of a combined First, Executive, Economy Plus and / or Economy class ticket, the free checked baggage allowance for each portion of the trip will be that applicable to the class of service for which the fare is paid. In addition to the checked baggage allowance, incapacitated passengers may carry a fully collapsible wheelchair &/or a pair of crutches &/or braces or other prosthetic device for the passenger's use, provided that the passenger is dependent upon them.

Infant / child is allowed one checked or carry-on fully collapsible child's stroller or push chair, or an infant’s carrying basket or car seat which may be carried in the passenger cabin subject to availability of space in both piece and weight systems.

Visa :

It is always advisable to check the requirement of visa for the country you are intending to visit. If you already have a visa, it is a good practice to recheck the validity and whether it allows multiple entries.

Flight Time/Date of travel: Please re-check on the ticket the scheduled departure time and date of your travel. Economy class passengers are generally expected to report for check-in 3-4 hours prior to scheduled departure time. Particular care with respect to date of travel should be taken if the flight timing is soon after mid-night as the effective date of travel changes at mid-night.

Airport Terminal:

There are certain airports where more than one terminal exist. It is advisable to check in advance the terminal from which your flight will depart. Likewise, for landing so that relatives and friends wishing to receive you can await your arrival at the right terminal.

Traveling with Children

The following tips should help both parents and kids arrive at their destination with smiles on their faces.

• If you have a long trip scheduled, "red-eye" flights may be best. This increases the chance that your youngster will be able to sleep through the majority of the trip.
• While any child under two is not required to have their own seat, they may be happier if they do. Purchase a ticket for your infant as well, and use a FAA certified car seat.
• If you do use a car seat, make sure it has been certified for air travel.
• Bring toys your children have never used -- the newness will hold their attention longer.
• Bring plenty of juice. Air travel can be dehydrating, especially for children.
• Wrap up "surprises" for your children to pull out when they get especially restless.
• Finger foods are a great distraction.
• When traveling with your baby, give him/her a bottle or pacifier to suck on during takeoff and landing. This will help equalize the ear pressure and keep your baby comfortable.
